Begin your 4th of July celebration early at the City of Duarte’s Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks Show at Duarte Sports Park (1401 Central Ave.) on Saturday, July 3 from 6-9:30 p.m.

“After having so much fun and experiencing the incredible turnout at our 2019 inaugural celebration and fireworks show, the city is excited to put on another in-person Independence Day celebration this year,” said Mayor Pro Tem Margaret Finlay. “We spent last year physically apart, but united together as a community with optimism that the pandemic is coming to an end. I, like many others, am hoping this is the first of many more safe and festive events in our future.”

The gates open at 5 p.m. with entertainment at the upper baseball fields of the park, including live music by the Latin-funk-R&B SOTO Band and a DJ. Enjoy the Family Play Area or choose from a variety of food trucks and vendor offerings ahead of the fireworks show at 9 p.m. Attendees should take lawn chairs and blankets as seating is extremely limited.

“Over 3,000 people came out to celebrate with Duarte at our last Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks Show in 2019,” said Parks and Recreation Director Manuel Enriquez. “After a long year, we are happy to come together and celebrate, in person and as a community once again!”
