

A 20-year-old man was charged Friday with a series of break-ins at restaurants in Long Beach.
Corey James Swayney is facing eight counts of second-degree commercial burglary, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Detectives were able to determine through video surveillance footage that one suspect was involved in the series of burglaries, which occurred between last Saturday and Monday, according to Long Beach police.
Each restaurant was broken into through its front door and money and/or electronics were stolen, police said.

Swayney, a Long Beach resident, was arrested Wednesday and has remained behind bars since then, jail records show.
