One person is dead after a crash in Whittier Friday on the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway involving multiple vehicles, including one vehicle that overturned and possibly a big rig, authorities said.
Officers responded at 2:27 a.m. to the 605 and the Rose Hills Road off- ramp, said Officer Patrick Kimball of the California Highway Patrol.
At least five vehicles and possibly a big rig were involved, authorities said.
The crash closed down the Rose Hills Road off-ramp to the 605, plus the northbound HOV lane and the northbound numbers one, two and three lanes of the 605.
The victim was not immediately identified, and the cause and other details of the accident are under investigation, Kimball said.
