

A Silver Alert issued Wednesday morning for an 80-year-old man with dementia last seen in Whittier was deactivated after he was located.
Jose Elso Lopez was last contacted about 8:30 a.m. Monday in the 4100 block of Eadhill Place, near Overcrest Drive, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Just after 4 a.m., the California Highway Patrol, which issued the Silver Alert, announced Lopez had been found, but provided no further details.
The Silver Alert program was established by the California Highway Patrol to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
