

Firefighters Tuesday extinguished a slow-moving fire that blackened about an acre of grass near the eastbound Marina (90) Freeway in the Playa Vista area.
The fire, which was reported about 12:30 p.m. at Centinela Avenue, was extinguished by 22 firefighters at 1:47 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
