

Authorities Thursday identified a man who was fatally shot in Long Beach during a confrontation with two suspects who were being sought.
Officers sent to the 100 block of West Forhan Street about 10:35 p.m. Monday on reports of a shooting found the wounded man on a sidewalk, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Jerrell Lee Belvin, 31, of Los Angeles died at the scene, according to the coroner’s office and the LBPD.
Detectives believe Belvin was approached by two suspects who wore dark clothing and masks, and one or both shot him several times before they fled on foot. No further description of the suspects was released. A motive was not known, police said.
