Man killed in Compton shooting, suspect at large

A man was killed in a shooting in Compton and the shooter was on the loose Wednesday morning.

Deputies from Compton station responded about 10:25 p.m. Tuesday to a shooting call in the 1700 block of East Alondra Boulevard and found the victim, who had sustained at least one gunshot wound to the upper body, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Compton Fire Department personnel, Koerner said.

Details of what led to the shooting were not immediately available.

The age and name of the victim were not disclosed.
