A passenger who was killed when a vehicle involved in a police pursuit crashed into a trash truck in the city of Industry was identified Thursday by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.
The crash also left the driver injured, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
The crash that claimed the life of 27-year-old James Dringenberg took place about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on Workman Mill Road at the Pomona (60) Freeway, according to Deputy Eric Ortiz. Dringenberg died at the scene, according to the coroner’s office.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to assist investigators with a regional crime task force who had been following a suspect vehicle when the driver refused to stop, Ortiz said.
The reason for the surveillance or the nature of the task force were not available.
