

A total of 19 citations were issued at a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint set up in Pico Rivera, authorities said Saturday morning.
The checkpoint was conducted between 6 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday in the 8500 block of Whittier Boulevard, near Paramount Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
A total of 1,640 vehicles passed through the checkpoint and deputies ticketed 17 unlicensed drivers and two drivers for driving with a suspended or revoked license, the department said.
