Firefighters Tuesday extinguished a rubbish fire in an alley in the Fairfax area and prevented the flames from spreading to a nearby building.

The fire was reported about 7:50 a.m. in the 300 block of North Fairfax Avenue and was extinguished in about 20 minutes, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. No injuries were reported.

According to Fox11, the fire was in a homeless encampment. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
