Authorities Monday identified a pedestrian who was fatally injured last week by a Metro train in the Westlake area of Los Angeles.

Paramedics were sent to the 600 block of South Alvarado Street about 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Nicholas Country, 53, of Los Angeles died at a hospital, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office and the LAFD.

Some delays were reported in the area involving Metro B and D Line trains while an investigation was conducted into the circumstances of the death.
