

A man who allegedly tried to rob a marijuana dispensary was fatally shot by an armed security guard Sunday in South Los Angeles and sheriff’s detectives were investigating the death.
The shooting in the 1000 block of Imperial Highway was reported at 9:30 a.m., according to Los Angeles county Sheriff’s Deputy Eva Jimenez.
Responding deputies found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his chest, Jimenez said. An armed security guard confronted the man and the shooting ensued. The man was transported to a hospital, where he later died. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Anyone who witnessed the shooting was asked to call the LASD’s homicide bureau at 323-890-5500. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at 800- 222-8477.
