Man fatally shot near El Monte

The victim’s identity has not been released.

A man was fatally shot today in the El Monte area, authorities said.
   The shooting occurred about 2:10 a.m. in the 11600 block of Garvey Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
   The man was taken to a hospital, where he died, according to the sheriff’s department. Information on his identity was not immediately available. No arrests were reported.
