Spring Into the Season With Programs in Monrovia

The City of Monrovia encourages the community to spring into the season with reimagined activities and programs.   

Registrations are required for most programs and fees may apply. Sign-up for the programs by visiting cityofmonrovia.org.

Monrovia Today

This season, the Monrovia Today will be a digital version so residents can have quick access to the virtual programs scheduled this spring. Residents can contact the Monrovia Community Center at (626) 256-8246 for a physical copy. In the upcoming week, a postcard should arrive in homes with a QR code to scan, leading to the digital Monrovia Today

Hippity Hoppity Spring Photo-Op 

Capture the spirit of spring at the “Hippity Hoppity Spring Photo-Op.” On March 27, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., the Spring Bunny will make an appearance at Library Park. Throughout Old Town Monrovia, the family can enjoy four different photo opportunities along with take home arts and crafts activities. 

This program is free, but registration for 15-minute photo time slots are limited and required.

Families participating in this program must keep six-feet physical distance from other families and face coverings are required.

Spring Fitness Challenge Family Adventure at Home

The “Spring Fitness Challenge Family Adventure at Home Program” is a six-week fitness challenge. Registered participants will receive access to unique story times and special activity kits that relate to each challenge. Upon completion of each challenge, participants will earn merit badges.

The program will run from March 27 to May 1.

  • Challenge 1: backyard yoga. 
  • Challenge 2: cardio focus. 
  • Challenge 3: push-ups.
  • Challenge 4: sit-ups.
  • Challenge 5: jumping jacks.
  • Challenge 6: family hike.

Registration is required and limited. This program is free for Monrovia families and $15 for non-Monrovia families.

Spring Stop & Hop Drive Thru EGG-stravaganza

Celebrate the start of spring at the “Spring Stop and Hop Drive Thru EGG-stravaganza.” On April 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., drive thru Recreation Park, and receive a greeting from the Spring Bunny and festive items for an at-home spring egg hunt. 

Registration for 30-minute time slots are limited and required. This program is free for Monrovia families and $15 for non-Monrovia families. Registration will close on Friday, April 2 or when filled.

Families participating in this program must keep six-feet physical distance from other families and face masks are required.

Earth Day Celebration

Celebrate Earth Day with a special Earth Day home activity kit. These kits will include arts and crafts supplies, seed packets, a reusable bag and information on the importance of recycling and reusing everyday items.

Registration is required and will be available beginning on Thursday, April 1. This program free and is open to Monrovia residents only.

Arbor Day Celebration

This year, the City of Monrovia will celebrate Arbor Day for an entire week by releasing daily informative videos which will highlight the importance of the trees found in Monrovia. 

Monrovia residents are invited to register for an Arbor Day activity pack, which will be delivered to homes the week of Arbor Day. The Arbor Day activity pack will consist of a tree planting kit, arts and crafts supplies, a special Arbor Day button, reading materials on the history of Arbor Day and more. Registration is required and limited.

This program free and is open to Monrovia residents only.
