Jan. 31

At 12:53 a.m., officers responded the 700 block of West Camino Real Avenue regarding a vehicle that had collided with a parked car and rolled over. Both occupants had exited the vehicle by the time officers had arrived and refused medical treatment. While talking with the driver, the officer noticed the driver was having a hard time maintaining her balance and displayed other signs of driving under the influence. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana recently. The officer then conducted a series of standardized field sobriety tests and determined the suspect had been driving under the influence of drug(s). A records check also revealed the 19-year-old female from Rialto was driving with a suspended license from a previous DUI. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At 9:50 a.m., an officer took a mail theft report for an incident that occurred in the 1800 block of Highland Oaks Drive. The victim discovered his mail had been stolen from his mailbox after receiving an email notification from the United States Postal Service of what would be delivered, and then discovered the mail was missing from his mailbox.

Feb. 1

At 7:03 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 900 block of West Huntington Drive regarding a vandalism report. Sometime during the previous night, an unknown suspect forced open the community intercom box and tampered with the wires. The investigation is pending a review of any surveillance footage.

At 7:50 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s, located at 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a theft suspect in custody. The officer discovered the suspect cut off the security tags to approximately $113.20 worth of clothing before concealing it in her purse and walking out of the store. A 60-year-old female from Baldwin Park was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Feb. 2

At 10:52 a.m., an officer responded to In and Out, located at 420 N. Santa Anita Ave., regarding a counterfeiting incident. An investigation revealed the suspect attempted to pass a fraudulent $100 bill to pay for their meal. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late 40s seen driving an older model, dark green Toyota Camry. The investigation is ongoing.

At 12:43 p.m., an officer responded to the Westfield Santa Anita Mall, located at 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a grand theft report. An investigation revealed the suspect entered Boarders and stole a Nike duffle bag before entering Coach and stealing four handbags. The suspect is described as a black male, between the ages of 30 and 40 years old, with brown hair and eyes, and approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds. The investigation is ongoing.

At 5:42 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1300 block of North Santa Anita Avenue regarding a burglary report. The victim stated she heard someone in her garage but assumed it was her husband. Later, she discovered her bicycle had been stolen from the open garage.

Feb. 3

At 6 a.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of South Santa Anita Avenue regarding a theft report. An investigation revealed the suspect was seen stealing a ladder from the victim’s truck bed. Officers located the suspect and during a consensual search, they located a controlled substance in the suspect’s jacket. A 33-year-old male from El Monte was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Feb. 4

At 9:13 p.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of Balboa Avenue regarding a mail theft report. The officer determined an unidentified suspect opened numerous mailboxes and fled with stolen mail. The investigation is pending a review of the surveillance footage.

At 2:04 p.m., an officer responded to the 1800 block of Grace Avenue regarding a theft from vehicle report. The victim discovered his leaf blower, wallet and cash had been stolen from his unlocked vehicle between 1:10 and 2 p.m. on Jan. 4.

Feb. 5

At 8:40 a.m., an officer responded to Arco gas station, located at 5 W. Foothill Blvd., regarding a grand theft report. The victim stated her purse was stolen from her front passenger seat while she was pumping gas. The suspect fled in a newer model white Chevrolet Camaro. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male wearing a hat and mask. The investigation is ongoing.

At 1:57 p.m., an officer responded to Assembly of God Church, located at 26 W. Foothill Blvd., regarding a petty theft report. An investigation revealed the victim’s catalytic converter was stolen from his Land Rover sometime between Jan. 4 at 4 p.m. and Jan. 5 at 12:30 p.m.

Feb. 6

At 1:40 p.m., an officer responded to T-Mobile, located at 1230 S. Golden West Ave., regarding a grand theft report. Surveillance footage revealed the lone suspect entered the store, stole an iPad Pro from the display, and then fled in an unknown direction. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 20 years old, with long hair and seen wearing a light-colored shirt and dark pants. The investigation is ongoing.

At 5:12 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of Walnut Avenue regarding a possible burglary in progress. The victim stated he was awoken by a loud noise and when he went to see what was going on, he encountered two suspects inside his house. The suspects then fled. The investigation is ongoing.
