

If you live in Arcadia, you have heard of the Downtown Arcadia Improvement Association (DAIA). But what do they really do? Join Donna Choi, executive director of DAIA, at the Arcadia Community Coordinating Council meeting on Feb. 1 from 11:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. via Zoom to find out.
A native Angelino,Choi has been with DAIA since 2016 where she works to increase the district’sbrand identity through events and promotions, beautifying the area and addingpedestrian amenities, as well as managing the corporate documents, elections,and meetings.
She iscurrently serving as a commissioner on the Board of Transportation Commissionfor the City of Los Angeles where she advises the city on transportationissues. She previously served the City of Los Angeles as a commissioner onthe East Area Planning Commission. Following a successful career in radio(KROQ and others), she opened the popular Silver Lake gift shop Serifos, whichhelped lead the renaissance of the Sunset Junction business district. For12 years, Choi and Serifos were active and engaged with the community, ahighlight being their annual Halloween treat-a-thon for local children.
