Hot Topic is a female barbershop quartet affiliated with the Verdugo Hills Chorus, a Sweet Adeline four-part harmony group that has been entertaining in the San Gabriel Valley for over 50 years. Learn more about the quartet at the Arcadia Community Coordinating Council (ACCC) Zoom meeting on Dec. 7, 2020 from noon–1:30 p.m.

The members of this quartet have been together for many years. Patti Loitz, the lead, and Penny Parisis, who sings tenor, are music teachers. Dee Cardello, who sings baritone, is an accountant and Ellen Totleben, the bass, is a set decorator for television shows.

Together Hot Topic enjoys songs from every decade, especially swing tunes from the forties. They rehearse weekly and compete each year in the spring at their Regional Convention.
