Apple Filming New Series at Monrovia High School
Apple TV is filming “The After Party,” a new upcomingseries, at Monrovia High School.
On Friday, scenes involving a helicopter landing and takingoff from the football field caused quite a bit of noise. The helicopter was inthe area around 1 p.m. for the initial landing and is scheduled to take offbetween approximately 9-10:30 p.m. Residents in the area were warned to stayinside their homes for safety. The Monrovia Police Department and productionstaff will be there again tonight to ensure everyone’s safety.
From Academy Award, BAFTA and Golden Globe Award winnersChris Miller and Phil Lord, “The After Party” is a murder-mystery comedy set ata high school reunion afterparty. Each of the eight episodes will feature aretelling of the same night told through a different character’s perspective,each with its own unique visual format and film genre to match the teller’spersonality.
Miller will serve as creator, showrunner and executiveproducer of “The Afterparty” and Lord will executive produce through the pair’sproduction shingle, Lord Miller. Lord Miller’s VP of Television Aubrey Lee willserve as producer. The series will be produced for Apple by TriStar TV and SonyPictures Television, where Lord and Miller currently have an expansivefive-year overall television deal.
