Arcadia Crime Blotters: Oct. 4-10

Oct.4

At6:35 a.m., an officer responded the 100 block of Alta Street regarding a theftfrom vehicle report. Sometime during the previous evening, an unknown suspectentered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and fled with a laptop and vehicleregistration information. There is no suspect information at this time.

At8:29 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the1200 block of South Ninth Avenue regarding a burglary report. The victimdiscovered his residence, which is under renovation, was burglarized. Varioustools, electronics, and a bike had been stolen. The victim found a cellphone,phone charger, and likely stolen access cards that did not belong to him. Thereare no investigative leads as of the date of this report.

At9:01 p.m., an officer responded to Elite Prep, located at 1135 W. HuntingtonDrive, regarding a suspect seen breaking windows to the building. Aninvestigation revealed the 23-year-old male suspect from Marion, Ind., enteredthe building and accessed the roof. He was seen breaking windows on the second floorand was located during a multi-police agency search. The Pasadena PoliceDepartment airship, along with the Monrovia Police Department aided in thesearch and successful arrest of the suspect. While inside the police vehicle,the suspect purposely hit his head against the plastic partition, causinginjury to his head. He was then transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital fortreatment.

At5:13 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Alta Streetregarding a battery report. The officer discovered a physical altercationbetween neighbors resulted in both neighbors sustaining minor injuries, butneither neighbor desired prosecution.

Oct.6

At2:54 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of East Santa Clara Roadregarding an aggravated assault investigation. There was a report of a stabbingnear the location, but officers were unable to locate a suspect or the victim.Upon searching for the suspect, officers located a subject matching thesuspect’s description. It was determined the subject was not involved in thestabbing, but a records check revealed the 26-year-old female from Pasadena wasin possession of a controlled substance, unlawful paraphernalia, and had threeoutstanding misdemeanor warrants. She was arrested and transported to theArcadia City Jail for booking.

At3:23 p.m., an officer responded to the 1100 block of West Duarte Road regardinga theft from vehicle report. The victim explained she pulled over to fix herflat tire when the suspect stole her purse from the front passenger seat.Surveillance footage revealed the suspect watched the victim for 15 minutesbefore finally approaching her vehicle and stealing her purse. The suspect fledin a newer model, white Infiniti G35. The suspect is described as a malewearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants. The investigation isongoing.

Oct.7

At5:25 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of Bonita Street regarding areport of found mail. The reporting party located numerous pieces of discarded mail.The victims live nearby on South Third Avenue and South Tenth Avenue. There areno investigative leads as of the date of this report.

At5:30 p.m., an officer took a telephonic report of a vandalism that occurred inthe 00 block of West Camino Real Avenue. Sometime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. onOct. 7, an unknown suspect broke off the victim’s rear-view mirror from hervehicle and scratched the driver side door for no apparent reason. There is nosuspect information at this time.

Oct.8

At7:34 a.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of La Porte Street regarding astolen vehicle report. Sometime during the previous night, the victim’s 2006GMC Savana van was stolen from the parking lot. There are no investigativeleads as of the date of this report.

At9:19 a.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of West Huntington Driveregarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed the suspect(s) enteredthe construction site by cutting a hole through the fence near the Arcadia CityHall soccer field. The suspect(s) stole various tools. The investigation ispending a review of the surveillance footage.

Oct.9

At10:29 a.m., an officer responded to Public Storage, located at 12340 LowerAzusa Road, regarding a commercial burglary report. The victim had his storageunit broken into and the suspect(s) fled with three bicycles and miscellaneoustools. The victim does not know how the suspect(s) obtained his personal codeto enter the location. There is no suspect information at this time.  

At12:20 p.m., an officer responded the 200 block of West Le Roy Avenue regardinga theft from vehicle report. Sometime between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 9,and unknown suspect stole an unsecured pole saw from the tool rack in the bedof the truck. There are no investigative leads as of the date of this report.

Oct.10

At5:38 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 6000 block of South BaldwinAvenue regarding a battery investigation. The officers determined an argumentbetween husband and wife escalated when the husband battered his wife. Thesuspect, a 33-year-old male from Arcadia, was arrested and transported to theArcadia City Jail for booking.

At7:32 p.m., officers responded to a construction site in the 200 block of EastLive Oak Avenue regarding a male seen throwing rocks at vehicles and attemptingto knock down a fence. The officers witnessed the suspect attempting to enterthe construction site. While officers attempted to handcuff the suspect, heresisted, kicked his legs, and spat at officers. The suspect, a 41-year-oldmale from South El Monte, was transported by Arcadia Fire to Arcadia MethodistHospital for evaluation as he appeared to be in an altered state of mind.
