ArcadiaPublic Library is offering free online creative writing workshops throughNovember. The workshops are taught by Arcadia High School student and publishedwriter, Audrey Sloeng, who is completing her Girl Scout Gold Award.

Eachworkshop focuses on a different genre—journaling, flash stories, poetry, songwriting, and free writing—and lets teens express themselves and share theirwork in a safe and encouraging environment.

Theworkshops are open to students in grades 6 through 12. They last four workshopswill be held Oct. 17, 24 and Nov. 14 from 3 to 4 p.m., and the Nov. 24 workshopis scheduled for 5-6 p.m. Teens do not have to attend all the classes, althoughit is strongly recommended that the poetry writing workshop be taken with thesong writing workshop. For more information and to register, call the ArcadiaPublic Library’s Adult and Teen Services department at (626) 821-5569.
