Sept.27
At8:22 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Foothill Boulevard andRodeo Road regarding a traffic collision with one injury. Witnesses reportedthe suspect’s vehicle collided into the victim’s vehicle and fled the scene.Monrovia Police Department was able to locate the suspect’s vehicle anddiscovered the 39-year-old male from Duarte was under the influence of analcoholic beverage and had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. He was arrestedand transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. The victim sustainedminor injuries and was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital by ArcadiaFire.
At8:17 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of North OldRanch Road regarding a burglary investigation. The officer discovered the home,which is currently under construction, was burglarized. The victim mentionedthere was a previous unreported burglary on Sept. 30 where the unknownsuspect(s) fled with numerous sinks and a skid sprayer. It is unknown if thesecond burglary was committed by the same suspects. There is no suspectinformation at this time.
Sept.28
At2:56 a.m., an officer responded to the 00 block of North Second Avenue inresponse to a grand theft from vehicle report. Sometime between 10 p.m. theprevious night and 2:53 a.m., an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlockedvehicle and fled with speakers valued at more than $950. There are noinvestigative leads as of Oct. 6.
At9:03 a.m., an officer responded to the 1700 block of South Second Avenueregarding a fraud report. The victim was contacted by the suspect regarding ajob opportunity. The suspect issued two checks to the victim for more than theagreed upon amount for the victim’s services. The victim was then instructed totransfer the overpayments via the money transfer application, Zelle. The victimcomplied and then was notified by her bank that the two checks issued to herwere declined due to insufficient funds. The victim discovered she was a victimof fraud. The suspect went by the name “David Turner.” The investigation isongoing.
At10:07 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2400 block of SouthSixth Avenue regarding a burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed thelone suspect entered the victim’s unoccupied residence but was scared off whenthe resident spoke through the security cameras. There was no loss and therewere no signs of forced entry. The suspect is described as a male, possiblyBlack or Hispanic, seen wearing pants, a hooded sweatshirt, and a mask. Theinvestigation is pending a review of the surveillance footage.
At4:05 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Orange Grove Avenue andSanta Anita Avenue regarding a possible driver under the influence of alcohol.Officers located the suspect’s vehicle and instead of pulling over, a pursuitensued. The suspect drove onto the 210 Freeway headed east and was ultimatelypulled over by CHP near the Baseline exit. The 68-year-old male from Las Vegaswas arrested for Evading a Police Officer, Driving Under the Influence, andReckless Driving. He was transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Sept.29
At7:29 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s, located at 400 S. Baldwin Ave.,regarding a suspect in custody for shoplifting. A store employee witnessed thesuspect, a 35-year-old female transient from Pasadena steal less than $200worth of men’s clothing. A records check revealed the suspect had twooutstanding misdemeanor warrants. She was arrested and transported to theArcadia City Jail for booking.
Sept.30
At5:25 a.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Mini Mart, located at 900 WestDuarte Road, regarding a commercial burglary report. Surveillance footagecaptured a suspect shatter the front glass door before removing the Lotteryscratcher dispenser. He was unable to load the dispenser into the vehicle, sohe removed numerous scratchers from the dispenser, left the dispenser, and fledin the vehicle. The suspect is described as a male, approximately 5-foot-10,240 pounds, wearing a gray jacket, gray sweatpants, and a mask. The driver ofthe suspects’ vehicle was described as a Hispanic male, 25 to 35 years old,about 6 feet tall, and 300 pounds. The vehicle is a newer model, gray NissanMaxima. The investigation is ongoing.
Atnoon, an officer responded to the 100 block of California Street regarding astolen vehicle report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect stole thevictim’s locked vehicle sometime between 11:20 a.m. and noon on Sept. 30. Theinvestigation is ongoing.
Oct.1
At12:21 a.m., an officer responded to a business in the 300 block of EastHuntington Drive regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed analtercation between a boyfriend and girlfriend escalated and resulted in thefemale sustaining visible injuries. The victim declined medical attention fromArcadia Fire. The suspect, a 27-year-old male from Perris was arrested andtransported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At9:30 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of WalnutAvenue regarding a battery investigation. While investigating a disturbancecall, the officer discovered the suspect bit and hit her boyfriend. Thesuspect, a 21-year-old female from Goleta, was arrested and transported to thePasadena City Jail for booking.
At5:44 p.m., officers responded to Motel 6, located at 225 Colorado Place,regarding a battery report. Officers determined the victim was punched in theface by the suspect for no apparent reason. The victim declined medicalattention. The suspect, a 39-year-old female from Rialto, was arrested andtransported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A records check revealed shewas also on parole at the time of the crime.
Oct.2
At11:13 a.m., an officer responded to Ralphs, located at 211 E. Foothill Blvd.,regarding a petty theft report. Surveillance footage revealed two suspectsstole numerous bottles of alcohol after removing the security caps. Thesuspects are described as Black males, both in their thirties, both wearingHawaiian styled shirts. The investigation is pending a review of thesurveillance footage.
Oct.3
At8:01 p.m., an officer took a telephonic report of a residential burglary reportthat occurred in the 300 block of East Duarte Road. The resident returned frombeing out of town and discovered unknown suspect(s) entered her home by unknownmeans and stole a wallet, watches, a car battery, and electronics. There is nosuspect information at this time.
