Former Pasadena Therapist Pleads to Sexually Abusing Patients
A former marriage and family therapist in Pasadena has pleaded no contest to sexually abusing seven patients, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.
Edgar Gustavo Villamarin, 66, of Pasadena entered the plea Wednesday to seven counts of sexual battery by fraud, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Villamarin is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 1 in Department J of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pasadena Branch.
Deputy District Attorney Lisa Daruty Tanner said the defendant is expected to be sentenced to four years in state prison and ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
The victims were touched or fondled by Villamarin between 2014 and 2018, the prosecutor said.
The case was investigated by the Pasadena Police Department.
