Long Beach Convention Center To Be LA County Vote Center
The Long Beach Suffrage 100 present a silent demonstration last year at the State Democratic Convention at the Long Beach Convention Center with banners dedicated to the Silent Sentinels who marched in 1917 for women’s suffrage. Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn announced Friday, Sept. 18, that the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center will serve as a county Vote Center for the Nov. 3 election. People will be able to vote in person or drop off their mail-in ballots at the location starting Oct. 30 through Election Day. “I want this to be the most accessible, convenient, hassle-free election for voters in L.A. County history, and that means giving voters options of how and where to vote,” Hahn said. “The Long Beach Convention Center is a landmark that Long Beach residents are familiar with, and it is going to be a great option for those voting in-person or dropping off their ballot this fall.” Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia said the convention center has always been an ideal venue for hosting large events. “It is fitting that they have also offered their space for safe and accessible voting this election year,” he said.
