San Gabriel to create new racial equity commission

San Gabriel will form a new commission that will focus on racial and social justice issues throughout the city, council members decided at their Tuesday meeting. The Human Equity, Access and Relations commission, otherwise known as HEAR, will be a citizen-led commission that seeks to “advance and advocate for equity, diversity, social justice, safety and mutual appreciation and respect for all members of the San Gabriel community,” its mission statement reads.
