An 18-year-old boy from Altadena and a 14-year-old girl from Pasadena are in critical condition after being shot in Pasadena on Sunday.

Officers arrived on the 300 block of East Villa Street and located both victims on the north sidewalk of the street in the open grass area of the park. The male victim was struck numerous times on his upper body, while the young girl was struck once in the neck area. Paramedics transported both victims to an area hospital where they remain in critical condition.

According to a press release from the Pasadena Police Department, a preliminary investigation revealed both victims were walking on the north sidewalk when the suspect vehicle occupied by at least two suspects pulled up alongside the victims and stopped. The car’s passenger yelled something toward the victims before shooting both victims. The suspects sped away westbound immediately thereafter.

Both suspects are described as Black males, driving a late model sedan.

Both victims are predominantly Spanish speaking and have no gang affiliation.

No more details were released as detectives are following up with investigative leads.
