On Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at approximately 8:14 p.m. Pasadena Police Department received several calls reporting that a male was stabbing another male on the 100 block of East Orange Grove Boulevard. According to a press release from the department, officers who were in the immediate area arrived on scene and located the adult male victim on the ground bleeding profusely. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officers on scene were directed by witnesses north through an alley where the suspect was seen fleeing on foot. The male adult suspect was located a short distance away from the crime scene and was taken into custody without incident, according to police.

Officials say a preliminary investigation revealed the victim was walking north through the CVS parking lot with the suspect walking alongside in the same direction and, for unknown reason, the suspect stabbed the victim several times.

Reportedly, a bloodied knife along with other items of evidence were recovered from the scene.

The motive is yet to be determined and no further details are available at this time.

The victim’s identity is withheld at this time pending next of kin notification.
