Arcadia Lifts Bobcat Fire Voluntary Evacuations

Residentsnorth of Foothill Boulevard and east of Santa Anita Avenue impacted

Wednesday evening, the City of Arcadiais removed recommendations for residents to evacuate as the Bobcat Fire hasgenerally progressed away from the City of Arcadia and the red flag warningexpired.

However, residents are advised toremain on alert for any changes to weather conditions that may affect the fire.City officials warn that evacuations may be necessary if conditions change.

Per the latest update from Cal Fire, the Bobcat Fire has burned 23,890 acres and is 0% contained. Smoke, ash, and other particulate matter remains high and air quality is extremely poor. According to the South Coast Air Quality Management District, smoke from the Bobcat Fire burning in the region has caused unhealthy air quality throughout many areas of L.A. County Thursday. Residents in poor health, children, and older adults are encouraged to remain indoors until conditions improve.
