Monrovia Canyon Park & HWP Closed Due to Excessive Heat

Due to an excessive heat warning issued by the National Weather Service for the San Gabriel Valley, Monrovia Canyon Park and the Hillside Wilderness Preserve will be closed Friday through Monday.

Over the weekend, the region can expect dangerously hot conditions with high temperatures between 100-115 F. There will only be modest relief overnight as temperatures are expected to remain in the 80s. 

Theclosure may be extended if weather conditions do not improve. Ifthere are any changes regarding the closure of either location, thecommunity will be notified.

Additionally,foothill resident may see an increased presence of the fire department patrolsare enhanced.

Forthose seeking some relief, the Monrovia Community Center has fans available forresidents to borrow by calling (626) 256-8246.
