

A man and awoman have been charged with tying up his 6-year-old son to a bed in theirPasadena home, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announcedMonday.
Ivan MichaelArriaga and Claudia Georgina Hernandez were each charged on Friday in caseGA108378 with one count of child abuse under circumstances or conditions likelyto cause great bodily injury.
They werescheduled to be arraigned Monday, but the hearing was continued to Aug. 26 inDepartment D of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pasadena Branch.
Between June1 and Aug. 12, the defendants are accused of using zip ties to restrainArriaga’s son at various times. The victim allegedly had injuries to one of hisankles.
If convictedas charged, the defendants each face a possible maximum sentence of six yearsin state prison. The case remains under investigation by the Pasadena PoliceDepartment.
