Inrecent weeks, Arcadia Unified schools have seen a rash of vandalism, trespassing, and breaking and entering. Several schools have been hit withgraphic and offensive graffiti and have been broken into — theft has also beenan issue. In a communication to parents, district officials said “This is notonly disturbing for our staff to have to discover, witness, and deal with, butit is costing our district (current students and families) a lot of money thatcould be much better spent.”

Districtofficials say security has been enhanced in recent weeks with additionalcameras, new locks and entry points, and increased lighting. However, theseadded measures are costing the district money that is already in short supplydue to the pandemic.

Thedistrict is now asking the community for help with information related to anypotential crimes that have occurred at any of its campuses. The district saysit will “be prosecuting any and all individuals found guilty of committingthese crimes to the fullest extent of the law.”
