Renovations, Enhancements Announced at Pasadena City Parks
TheCity of Pasadena’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department hastemporarily closed athletic fields at six parks for turf renovation andenhancements. The closures will allow crews to conduct maintenance includingaerating, fertilizing, over-seeding, irrigation testing and repairs, andremoval of in-field lip build up (on baseball/softball diamonds). Temporaryfencing has or will be installed to protect renovated areas as the seed needsan opportunity to establish sufficient roots and grow in preparation for futuresports seasons. Renovations are currently underway at Brookside, Brenner,Jefferson, McDonald, Victory and Villa parks.
Workwill be completed in two phases. Projects in phase one will conclude on eitherSept. 8 or 30, and phase two is currently scheduled to conclude on Dec. 14. Alist of impacted parks and fields is below. Work in Area H is anticipated inphase two, but an exact schedule is not yet available.
