June1

At 1:46 p.m., the front of the Pasadena PoliceDepartment was vandalized with spray paint. Additional vandalisms occurred at aCity Park in the 2500 block of Paloma Street and other locations in the city.There was evidence all of the incidents of vandalism were connected and asubject was located who, officer’s investigation revealed, was responsible forthe damage to the city property. The subject was arrested with spray paint cansin his possession. At the time of the arrest, the suspect attempted to provideofficers with a false name.

At 8:52 p.m., officers were alerted to a groupof people who appeared to be preparing to break into and presumably loot alocal business in the 800 block of South Arroyo Pkwy. An officer responded tothe business and found a vehicle in the parking lot that was running and foursubjects armed with prying tools, at the front door of the business. When theofficer shone a light on the four subjects, they ran to the waiting car and fled.A short pursuit ensued onto the freeway and the driver eventually stopped. Allfour suspects were detained and subsequently arrested for attempt commercialburglary and attempt looting. Evidence of the crime was recovered from thevehicle.

June4

At 10:45 a.m., officers responded to a shootingin the 100 block of Painter Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adultmale had been shot by unknown males in a passing vehicle. The victim wastransported to a local area hospital in critical condition. Detectives continueto investigate this shooting.

At 10:19 p.m., a resident from the 100 block ofNorth Sierra Bonita Avenue called the police department to report that when hearrived home, he noticed a person inside of his house. The person was a knownsuspect with whom the resident had a current restraining order against. Thehomeowner confronted the suspect and a physical fight occurred. Officersarrived to the location and were able to take the suspect into custody. Aninvestigation revealed the suspect had entered through a window equipped withan air conditioner and it appeared as if he intended to take several items fromthe residence. The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the physicalaltercation.

June5

At 2:03 a.m., the Pasadena Police Department’sCommunications Center received multiple calls of a suspicious person in the 100block of Greenwood Avenue. As officers arrived, they heard rustling noisescoming from nearby shrubs. As they were conducting a search for the source ofthe noises, a single gunshot or firework was heard. Officers located a personhiding in some brush where the sound was heard and the suspect was located anddetained. Once detained, he was found to be in possession of an identification,which was eventually determined to be unreported loss from a nearby residence.Officers checked the residence and found an opened front door with anunsuspecting homeowner who was sleeping. Other loss from the property wasrecovered in the immediate area, including a stolen firearm. No one was harmedduring this incident and the suspect was arrested for burglary.

June7

At 1:15 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stopin the 600 block of Rio Grande Street of a Dodge that was displaying licenseplates which were registered to a Mercedes. During the investigation byofficers as to why the plates on the vehicle did not match the registeredvehicle, it was learned the driver was unlicensed. The driver was arrested fordriving without a license and the vehicle was to be impounded. An inventorysearch of the vehicle, prior to being impounded, revealed a backpack containingstolen merchandise from several stores and several items indicative of recentlooting. Additionally, a firearm was also located in the backpack.

At 8:27 p.m., officers were investigating aresidence in the 2100 block of Crary Street which was believe to be connectedwith several recent burglaries. Officers found two stolen vehicles in thedriveway. One suspect was detained as they entered one of the stolen vehicles andanother suspect was found hiding inside a makeshift room in the garage. Bothsuspects were arrested and a subsequent search of the residence revealed anassault rifle, narcotics burglary tools and several stolen items.

June8

At 2:15 a.m., officers responded to the 100block of South Hill Avenue regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. Thevictim was sleeping in an enclosure at the location when the suspect stabbedthe victim with a knife. The victim sustained multiple stab wounds to his hand,but declined medical treatment. The victim, who knows the suspect, toldofficers the suspect rode off on a bicycle. Responding officers checked thearea for the suspect but were unable to locate him.

June10

At 3:49 p.m., officers responded to a shots-firedcall in the 1100 block of Sunset Avenue. Officers contacted the victim andlearned the victim’s kitchen window had a bullet hole. Based on the officer’sinvestigation, they believed the bullet was fired from the area of the 210 Freeway.Additionally, a bullet was recovered from the kitchen counter. There were sixoccupants in the home during the incident, fortunately nobody was hurt.

June11

At 10:38 a.m., a suspect entered a business inthe 1100 block of East Green Street. The victim was seated in her office whenthe suspect entered and he lured the victim into the restroom. Withoutprovocation, the suspect punched the victim in the face. The suspect took acell phone and numerous credit cards before leaving the location. Because ofthe assault, the victim could not remember much about the incident. A searchfor the suspect was conducted by officers, but he was not located.

At 8:29 p.m., officers were dispatched to the2000 block of Newport Avenue regarding shots fired. Witnesses reported seeingthe victims running south on Newport Avenue. A few minutes later the victimswere seen walking north on Newport. As the victims walked, a light coloredcompact (SUV or sedan) travelled north on Newport Ave. and unknown suspect(s)in the vehicle fired at the victims. The victims ran in opposite directions.Officers canvassed the area and located evidence of the shooting, however,neither the victims nor suspects were located.

June12

At 11:16 a.m., officers responded to the 100block of North Allen Avenue in regard to a fire at a multi-unit apartmentcomplex. Upon arrival, officers observed witnesses trying to extinguish a smallfire on the side of the building. Pasadena Fire Department personnel arrivedand doused the area with water. The investigation revealed the fire was likelyan act of arson and the arson investigator was summoned. There were no injuriesreported and the building was evacuated as a precaution, but the residents wereallowed to return as the fire only caused minor damage to the exterior of thebuilding.

At 8:04 p.m., officers responded to RobinsonPark regarding a shooting that had occurred. The victims were in the park whentwo cars pulled up alongside the victims when one passenger exited the car,obtained a firearm from the other vehicle and began firing in the directions ofthe victims. Officers, who were in the area at the time, heard the gunshots andresponded to the park. The victims provided the officers with the direction thesuspect vehicles fled and officers located one of the vehicles, which hadcollided on Forrest Avenue. One suspect (with the help of a K9) was located byofficers during a search of the area near the collision. The second vehicle waslocated later in the area of Los Robles Avenue and Maple Street which lead tothe arrest of two additional suspects.

At 8:04 p.m., while conducting a perimetersearch of the area of where the above mentioned shooting vehicle collided,perimeter officers at the scene noticed a vehicle attempt to enter theperimeter, then exit at a high rate of speed. The police helicopter followedthe vehicle until ground units could respond and attempt to stop it. Thevehicle fled onto the freeway, reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph and mademultiple attempts to intentionally collide into police vehicles. The carcontinued into Los Angeles, where responding units lost sight of the vehicle.

June13

At 4:52 p.m., Pasadena officers were dispatchedto the area of El Molino Avenue and Washington Boulevard regarding an attemptedcar-jacking. The victims had visited a friend in the area and were confrontedby two suspects in a vehicle as they left the friend’s residence. The victimsdrove away and the suspects followed. The suspects threw beer bottles at themand at some point, the victim’s vehicle stalled due to a mechanical issue. Thesuspects pulled parallel to the victims’ vehicle and the one of the suspectsentered the rear of the victim vehicle and tried to take the vehicle afterpunching the victim in the face. The victim was in fear and refused to exit thecar. The suspects got back into their own car and left the location. Officerslocated the suspect vehicle moments later and both suspects were taken intocustody. Additionally, it was determined the two suspects were the samesuspects who were wanted in connection with the June 12, 2020 vehicle pursuit(see previous incident).

June14

At 8:14 a.m., officers responded to the area ofLake Avenue and Mountain Street regarding a shooting that had occurred. Thevictims had been at a convenience store on in the 600 block of North LakeAvenue when the suspect vehicle parked next to the victim’s vehicle. A verbalconfrontation occurred between the two over a parking related issue. The victimdrove away and the suspect vehicle followed the victim’s vehicle. The suspectdrove past the victim’s vehicle and the driver fired one to two shots at thevictim and sped off. One round struck the victim’s vehicle, however no one wasinjured. The area was searched but the suspect remains outstanding.

At 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a call ofshots fired in the 1300 block of North Lake Avenue. Witnesses told officers theincident began at a nearby gas station when they saw three males involved in afight. Two of the involved individuals, which were later determined to be thevictims of the shooting, left in their vehicle and returned a short time later.The other involved party had returned to his vehicle, which was parked in anearby parking lot. When the victims returned, they pulled into the same lotwhere the suspect was parked. A short time later, approximately five shots wereheard. Both the suspect and victim vehicles fled the scene. As officers werecanvassing the area looking for evidence, Pasadena Fire Department notified thepolice department that a gunshot victim had been dropped off at a local firestation. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his arm and was transported toa local hospital. The gunshot victim was uncooperative with the investigation.

June15

At 8:46 a.m., a security officer at City Hallobserved a subject trying to open doors on the second floor of the building.The security guard confronted the subject, who then became aggressive, punchedthe security officer in the face and took an item that he was holding. The robberyvictim called officers and followed the suspect as she fled. Respondingofficers located the suspect in the immediate area and took her into custody.The suspect had dropped the item she had stolen from the victim and thesecurity guard recovered it. The victim sustained minor injuries and thesuspect was booked into the city jail for strong arm robbery.

At 11:48 p.m., officers saw a male subjectriding his bicycle at night and attempted to stop him for a vehicle codeviolation. Before the officers could stop him, he rode his bicycle down thedriveway and into an underground, residential parking structure located in the 400block of North Los Robles Avenue. Officers followed the subject, located himand detained the bicyclist. It was learned he did not live at the location.Officers conducted a search of the area located an unregistered firearm nearthe bottom of the driveway. He was arrested for possession of a firearm andbooked into the Pasadena Police Department’s jail.

June18

At 5:12 p.m., officers responded to a fight callinvolving a group in the 2500 block of East Foothill Boulevard. When Officersarrived, one of the subjects believed to be involved, made a furtive movementbehind a parked vehicle. Officers detained the subject and a search of theimmediate area of the vehicle revealed a loaded firearm under the car. Thefirearm had been reported stolen out of state and the detained suspect wasarrested.

June20

At 3:53 a.m., officers responded to the 00 blockof Holly Street regarding shots fired. A search of the area was conducted andevidence of a shooting was located. Witnesses described a group of five to sixmen who fired into the air, began yelling, and fled in several vehicles. Thevehicles were not located and there have not been any reports of victims whowere struck by the gunfire.

June21

At 3:17 a.m., officers were dispatched to the100 block of North Chester Avenue regarding a shooting. The two victims werearguing in their apartment when a neighbor entered unannounced and attempted tointervene. The neighbor then fled back to his apartment and retrieved ahandgun. The male victim, who was now standing outside his apartment, heard agunshot from inside the suspect’s apartment. The suspect then exited hisapartment with the handgun and pointed it at the victim. The victim ran and ashe attempted to flee, the suspect fired multiple rounds at the victim. Therewere no injuries as a result of the shooting and officers took the suspect intocustody. The firearm was recovered and it was discovered it had been reportedstolen from Arizona.

June22

At 11:22 p.m., officers responded to the parkinglot of a business located in the 600 block of South Arroyo Parkway regarding afemale who was seen in possession of a firearm. When officers arrived, theylocated the described female, leaning into a parked vehicle. There was anothervehicle parked adjacent to the vehicle the female was leaning into and all ofthe vehicles’ occupants were detained. One occupant had a loaded firearmconcealed in his waistband and three additional firearms were found in thevehicle the female was seen leaning into. All three adult occupants were issuedcitations for possession of the concealed weapons.

June25

At 5:09 a.m., officers responded to the area ofMadison Avenue and Orange Grove Boulevard regarding an armed robbery. Thesuspect had approached the victim from behind, displayed a firearm and demandedmoney. Fearing for his life, the victim gave the suspect money and the suspectfled the location on a bicycle. The victim was not injured. The investigationled to the identity of the suspect and he was taken into custody several hourslater.

At 9:32 p.m., officers responded to the 400block of Bellmore Way regarding a call of a strong arm robbery. The victimindicated she had been assaulted by four to five suspects and was riding in thecar with one of the suspects (who she had recently met) just prior to therobbery. The suspect and victim were talking outside of the car when the othersuspects approached the victim and physically attacked her, rendering herunconscious. The suspects took several personal items from the victim and fledthe area together. The victim was treated by paramedics and the suspects havenot been located. Detectives are continuing their investigation to identify thesuspects.
