Arcadia Crime Blotters: June 28 – July 4

June28

At 2:50 a.m., officers responded to Arcadia ParkPharmacy, located at 301 W. Huntington Drive, regarding an audible alarmactivation. Officers determined the suspect(s) smashed a window, looked insidea miniature refrigerator, and fled with an unknown amount of property. Theinvestigation is pending a review of the surveillance footage.

At 4:20 a.m., an officerresponded to the area of 150 Las Tunas Drive regarding a traffic collisioninvolving a vehicle that had crashed into a tree. Upon contacting the driver,the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver’s person.In addition to performing poorly during the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests,the driver had a blood alcohol content of .193%. The officer also discoveredthe driver had never been issued a license. The 25-year-old male from TempleCity was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At 6:58 a.m., an officer responded to Royal OaksLiquor Store, located at 511 N. First Ave., regarding a commercial burglaryreport. An investigation revealed the unknown suspect(s) cut a lock to thesecurity gate, smashed the front glass door, stole more than $1,000 in cash andthirty cans of chewing tobacco. The investigation is pending a review of thesurveillance footage.

At 11:12 a.m., an officer responded to aresidence in the 1800 block of El Vista Circle regarding a residential burglaryreport. When reporting party went to check on the home, she discovered thefront door was unlocked and the office had been ransacked. The loss is unknownat this time. The investigation is pending a review of surveillance footage.

June30

At 8:15 a.m., an officer responded to aresidence in the 1000 block of Balboa Drive regarding a vehicle burglaryreport. The officer determined that sometime during the previous night, unknownsuspect(s) smashed two windows and fled with a tablet. There is no suspect informationat the time of this report.  

At 12:16 p.m., an officer responded to aresidence in the 1100 block of South Second Avenue regarding a vandalismreport. The victim discovered his rear kitchen glass door had been shattered,but not broken entirely, and the suspect(s) did not attempt to enter the home.The investigation is pending a review of the surveillance footage.

July1

At 9:44 a.m., an officer responded to HamptonInn, located at 311 E. Huntington Drive, regarding a stolen vehicle report.Surveillance footage revealed the victim left his car unlocked and the suspect,who was also staying at the hotel, entered the vehicle multiple times beforesuccessfully stealing the vehicle. Baldwin Park Police Department later locatedthe vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

At 10:15 a.m., officers responded to a residencein the 400 block of North Old Ranch Road regarding an audible alarm activation.The officers determined the suspect(s) entered the home by smashing a rearsliding glass door. Once inside, the suspects ransacked multiple rooms, andfled with an unknown amount of property. There is no suspect information at thistime.

July2

At 9:15 a.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness,located at 125 N. First Ave., regarding a vehicle burglary report. The victimdiscovered his vehicle’s driver door lock had been tampered with while he wasinside the gym and the suspect(s) fled with his wallet and cash. The victimthen discovered a fraudulent purchase on one of his stolen credit cards at theArcadia Nordstrom. The investigation is ongoing.

At 8:07 p.m., officersresponded to a residence in the 500 block of West Huntington Drive regarding adomestic violence investigation. The officers determined an argument between ahusband and wife turned violent when they both began hitting each other. Thehusband was determined to be the primary aggressor and was arrested. The39-year-old male from Arcadia was transported to the Arcadia City Jail forbooking.

July3

At 6:44 a.m., an officer responded to BurgerKing, located at 84 Las Tunas Drive, regarding a commercial burglary report.Surveillance footage revealed a suspect entered the business at approximately12:45 a.m. and attempted to open the office but was unsuccessful. The suspectultimately fled with four tablets. The investigation is pending a more thoroughreview of the surveillance footage.

At 3:50 p.m., the ArcadiaPolice Department received an electronically submitted report for a stolenbicycle. Surveillance footage revealed an unknown suspect stole the victim’sbike from a gated apartment complex. Due to the quality of the surveillancefootage, there is minimal suspect information at this time.

July4

At 1:36 a.m., officers responded to a residencein the 1400 block of South Sixth Avenue regarding a residential burglaryreport. An investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) gained entry to theresidence by unknown means, and once inside, the suspects forced open a bedroomdoor and fled with miscellaneous electronics, clothing, credit and debit cards,a karaoke machine, and handbags. The suspects also stole two vehicles from thedriveway. The investigation is ongoing.

At 7:30 a.m., an officer responded to the 300block of North Santa Anita Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometimeduring the previous night, suspect(s) stole the victim’s Chevrolet truck fromthe gated parking lot. There is no suspect information at this time.
