Each year, the Monrovia Community Garden reopens the application process for plots. Monrovians and families enrolled in the Monrovia Unified School District can apply to rent a raised bed for the second year of the program which will run from October 2020 to October 2021.

Applications are due by the end of August. There is a fee of $60 annually but scholarships are available. Accepted applicants are responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and appearance of the plots under their responsibility. They must also attend one to two educational classes a year. If not accepted for this year, applicants can be placed on a waitlist.

Experience level does not matter as the program welcomes first time gardeners. The volunteer leadership will help newcomers every step of the way and the program provides necessary materials.

Classes, including one coming up on July 18, will keep running and are open to all. Applications can be found at monroviacommunitygarden.org.
