The Monrovia City Council is creating an ad hoc committee to reviewcity policies, procedures, programs and to recommend areas in need ofimprovements. The purpose of the review is to understand where racialdiscrimination, bias or unfair treatment exists within city operations.

The citizen committee will provide insight, guidance andrecommendations — as well as a report — to the City Council. The overall effortwill also provide a platform for community outreach, education and change whereit is needed.

Councilmember Larry Spicer will be working with the city managerto prepare an agenda item for council consideration at its next meeting onTuesday, July 7.
