New dates will be announced July 31, 2020

In light of the ongoing uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts (PSHA) has announced that they will further postpone the June 7–28 dates for the Pasadena Showcase House of Design, originally planned at the Arcadia home being renovated. PSHA says its main concern is the “continued health and well-being of the extended Showcase family which includes guests, designers, trades, volunteers, vendors, members and the communities that host the beautiful design homes.”

PSHA will have new dates and event information by July 31, 2020, under the guidance of city, state and county health and safety mandates.

PSHA Benefit Chair Jill Fosselman says the organization remains committed and excited to present the 2020 Pasadena Showcase House of Design. “We promise to do everything we can to bring about this year’s Showcase House while protecting health and safety,” she says.  “Showcase has always been about aspirationaldesign. This year we’re hopeful the complete story of Showcase will be inspirational.”

PSHA President Vikki Sun says, “As a non-profit we still want to be able to fulfill our mission to raise money for music and the arts this year and in the future. We thank everyone for the loyalty and on-going support we have received and are looking forward to bringing our supporters a taste of Showcase as we develop a new plan.”

Over the past two months, PSHA collaborated with the designers and their trades to follow all health and safety mandates, including requiring facial coverings, repeated hand sanitizing, severely reducing the number of and location of workers, and continued site inspection for compliance. “We were a construction site when we were hit by COVID-19, and as the Site Superintendent, I took my responsibility for the health and safety of our workers and volunteers seriously,” says Fosselman. “What I love most is that the improvements honor and respect the historic integrity of the home and original architectural vision.”

The Federal-country style home, designed by “Hollywood Society’s Architect” Gerard R. Colcord, is situated on park-like grounds in north Arcadia. New for this year’s event is a schedule of onsite musical performances and PSHA hopes the Saturday night concerts will continue as planned.

Although PSHA assures that all tickets will be honored at the rescheduled home tour, those that have already purchased tickets will also be treated to a special bonus, a Virtual Gala planned for this summer. The special, live event will be a behind-the scenes look at the Showcase house and will offer a tour of the home in progress, interviews with designers, never-before-seen product demonstrations, musical performances and the kick-off of an online auction. Current ticket holders will be extended an invitation to join the event for free and others can purchase tickets at pasadenashowcase.org for $25 plus a transaction fee.
