With the latest news that Pasadena’s Health Department now has confirmed 184 COVID-19 cases within the city boundaries and two new deaths bringing Wednesday’s toll to 14 deaths. The city is working on a new dashboard to be posted weekly on the city’s website, according to an email Wednesday from Lisa Derderian, Pasadena public information officer
Last week, the city manager entered into a contract with Redrock Entertainment Services, in an amount not-to-exceed $700,000 for the new field hospital.
On hand Thursday morning were Police Chief Perez along with Pasadena’s health director, Dr. Ying Ying Goh. The site is set up with the exception of the medical equipment that would be instituted along with medical staff should the need exist. The initial setup includes 250 beds.
The temporary medical facility, or alternate care site, at the Pasadena Convention Center is initially for a three-month period trial period.
Council authorized the city manager to enter into a zero-dollar services agreement with Pasadena Hospital Association.
