Donations support healthcare providers’ access to critical supplies

On Thursday Pasadena Mayor Terry Tornek appealed to the community on behalf of Huntington Hospital which, like many other hospitals across the country, is need of personal protective equipment.

Supplies needed

The hospital is currently in “great need” of:

  • Masks (unused, unexpired medical masks of all kinds) but the hospital is not currently accepting homemade masks.
  • Medical gloves (unopened, unused boxes only).
  • Paper medical gowns (unopened).
  • Hand sanitizer (unopened, unexpired only).
  • Disinfecting wipes (unopened, unused).

Donations can be made at the Huntington Collection, located at 766 S. Fair Oaks Ave., Monday through Friday between 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Donations can also be shipped. Email purchasing@huntingtonhospital.com and they will create a shipping label that will be emailed to you.

Donate blood

Huntington Hospital is also experiencing a severe blood shortage. The hospital has created an offsite location for community blood donors at 800 S. Fairmount Ave., Pasadena, CA, 91105. The parking entrance is at 28 Bellefontaine St., and parking will be validated. Blood donation hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Visit huntingtonhospital.org/donateblood for more information.
