Pasadena Independent has learned of an internal city memo regarding the “reassignment” of Pasadena’s Fire Chief Bertral Washington.

Although not officially announced, sources close to Pasadena Independent confirmed via email that the internal announcement was made Wednesday in City Hall.

This is a developing story and we will update as appropriate. We have contacted city hall for comment and will publish details as we get them.

Lisa Derderian, Pasadena Public Information Officer, said that the decision to retire was Bertral Washington’s.
