Below is an e-mail sent to AUSD Parents

Good afternoon Arcadia Unified Parents and Community,

Things continue to move rapidly with the coronavirus, and we have another significant development today. At the recommendation of the Los Angeles County Office of Education, we will be closing all schools starting next week. We will remain open for the rest of today. As of now, the recommendation is to stay closed for two weeks. We will follow suit with these recommendations. We don’t have all the answers as of this moment, but to give you ample time to prepare for you and your families, we wanted to get you this information as soon as possible and before many of you leave work today. We will follow up with more information about possible distance learning options, and other details.

The health and safety of our students and staff continue to be our highest priority and guide us as a district. We are very appreciative of all of you and your willingness to once again evolve with this very fluid situation. We will follow up as soon as possible with more details and will continue our open communications with you.

We are committed to updating our dedicated Coronavirus webpage on a nearly daily basis with new resources, press briefings, and news articles. We encourage you to view our webpage as it has more information in regard to recent protocols, procedures, and already implemented precautions Arcadia Unified is taking to help keep our students, staff, and community safe. You can view this communication, our tenth, (in English and Chinese) and all the previous communications we have sent to all parents and staff on our website. If you or someone you know needs additional language support, please let us know. We also encourage you to follow our Facebook page and Twitter page, where we will share additional coronavirus information and Arcadia Unified news. We will continue to update you as more information becomes available.

Sincerely,
Arcadia Unified School District
