The relationship between the San Gabriel Mountains and Arcadia will be revealed at the Arcadia Community Coordinating Council on Apr. 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 400 W. Duarte Road, Arcadia.
The City of Arcadia rests at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains. These mountains cover 970 square miles across Southern California. Russell Tuttle, a 14-year veteran of the United States Forest Service, will go over the history of the mountains, how they became a national monument and their relationship to Arcadia.
Tuttle joined the U.S Forest Service after serving as a heavy equipment mechanic and teacher for over 10 years in the U.S. Air Force. He is a graduate of National American University where he majored in applied management.
The event is $18 if you RSVP with Robin Graney at arcadiacommunitycouncil@gmail.com, this includes a lunch. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $20.
