Since the most recent request for assistance, the public and sources close to the Pasadena Denver Lane Bloods criminal street gang have provided investigators with details helping further both investigations.

On Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at approximately 8:42 p.m., Pasadena Police Officers responded to the 600 block of North Mar Vista Avenue regarding a shooting call. Officers arrived on scene and located the unresponsive victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Tyrone English was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigative leads continue to suggest that English’s murder was a result of an internal feud within the Pasadena Denver Lane Bloods criminal street gang. The feud included, but was not limited to, a 2012 carjacking incident at a local park that led to a subsequent physical confrontation between English and fellow gang members a week prior to his death.

Furthermore, on Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at approximately 5:18 p.m., Monte Russell was shot multiple times in the rear parking lot of a barbershop located in the 1700 block of East Washington Boulevard. After shooting the victim, the suspects fled the scene in a gray four-door 2015 Dodge Charger. Russell was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives working the two cases have discovered additional information that both homicides are related. Investigative leads suggest that Russell’s murder was also linked to an internal feud within the Pasadena Denver Lane Bloods criminal street gang. Homicide investigators continue to seek additional information and witnesses who may have information regarding this 2015 homicide and confirm the identity of those responsible for Russell’s murder.

Investigators continue to make progress in their investigations and encourage anyone with further information pertaining to these murders to call the Pasadena Police 24/7at (626) 744-4241 or you may report information anonymously by calling “Crime Stoppers” by dialing (800) 222-TIPS (8477), use your smartphone by downloading the “P3 Tips” mobile app on Google Play or the Apple App Store or by using the website lacrimestoppers.org.
