The California Retired Teachers Association #71 (CalRTA) will hear updates from local superintendents at its Friday, Feb. 14, luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m. The meeting will take place at the Senior Center Building in Arcadia County Park, 405 S. Santa Anita Ave., next to the Lawn Bowling Greens. The cost of the luncheon for members and guests is $13.  For those who pay at the door, the cost is $14. Call John Gera at (626) 286-0714 for reservations by the Feb. 7 deadline.

Although retired, members of CalRTA never stop caring about education in general and are particularly interested in current education trends. Superintendents on the program’s agenda are Dr. Edward Zuniga, El Monte Union HSD; Alejandro Ruvalcaba, Rosemead School District; and Lynn Bulgin, Valle Lindo School District. Other superintendents may also be able to attend.

Membership in CalRTA is open to all retired educators, and to any others interested in joining. CalRTA’s motto is “Your partner in pension protection.”
