Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts (PSHA) is returning to Arcadia. This year’s PSHA is an east coast Federal-country style mansion originally built for the Edmund Locke family and designed by renowned Southern California architect Gerard R. Colcord. The continuing theme throughout this year’s house is sustainability.
The house itself is approximately 6,700 square feet and sits on a huge lot with park like grounds. It is situated in the Santa Anita Oaks section of Arcadia, but as always, as a courtesy to the neighbors there in no parking in the neighborhood of the house during showcase and no drop-off or pick-up at the house.
Parking will be at Gate 5 of Santa Anita Racetrack where shuttles will take visitors to the house. This year, keeping with the theme of sustainability, PSHA is encouraging visitors to use the Gold Line to visit. Shuttles will run every half-hour on the hour and half-hour from the Arcadia Gold Line Station.
In addition to the house tours there will also be the regular Shops at Showcase with more than 26 vendors participating. There will also be a restaurant serving meals and snacks and even a pub.
The PSHA will be open from April 26 to May 17. Tickets range from $35 to $45 depending on the time of day of the visit. There are also Golden Tickets available for $60. These tickets will go on sale later this month on the PSHA website: PasadenaShowcase.org.

There will be the return of free garden tours twice a day while the house is open. There will also be a new feature. Jill Fosselman (yes, of the wonderful Alhambra ice cream family) wants to remind those attending PSHA where their ticket dollars go: to supporting the arts. There will be live performances in the garden during the run of the house.
