Westfield Santa Anita will be ringing in the Year of the Rat with events and art installations throughout January and February.
Westfield Santa Anita will host a Lunar New Year celebration for the public on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 3–6 p.m., in Center Court. The event will present a modern twist on the Center’s annual Lunar New Year festivities, including live entertainment and contemporary performances, lion dances, children’s crafts activities, photo opportunities, and promotions and treats from the Center’s shops and restaurants. Westfield Santa Anita will distribute complimentary red envelopes to all visitors at their registration table during the event.

In the spirit of giving, Westfield will be raising money for the Asian Pacific Community Fund (APCF) by raffling off specialty prizes during the community day celebration. Raffle tickets will be priced at $1 and all proceeds will be donated to APCF. First General Bank will match all donations as homage to the Lunar New Year season.
“Lunar New Year continues to be an important holiday for our Center to celebrate with the families in Arcadia and the greater San Gabriel Valley region,” said Ian Carter, general manager of Westfield Santa Anita. “This year, we’re really excited to bring a fresh and modern take on the annual activities we offer to the community.”

Leading up to the grand community celebration, Westfield Santa Anita has created an interactive art installation that infuses tradition with modern technology; guests will be able to walk up to the LED wall installation and interact live with a virtual lion dancer.
