Monrovia Reads, the local literacy non-profit, is bringing author Julie Anne Cowell to Monrovia to talk about her books. She is the author of the King Street series of books for young people. On Thursday, Jan. 16 she will discuss why she writes these books that encourage young people.

The event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. and will include a question and answer period. There will also be an opportunity for everyone to have their book(s) signed and even a chance to purchase additional books. Refreshments will be served.

This is a good chance to meet a local author (she and her husband live here in Southern California) and to mix with other book lovers.
