The Ice House Hosts 4 Comedy Stars to Ring in 2020
The Ice House Comedy Club is always the place to be on New Year’s Eve and this year is really going out with a bang when former MMA fighter-turned-comedian/podcast host Brendan Schaub takes the stage to bid adieu to 2019. In addition, The Ice House will also present a three-act all-star comedy show on Stage 2 with Lachlan Patterson, Helen Hong and Eric Schwartz.
Schaub is an American stand-up comic, podcast host, and TV personality based out of Los Angeles. He recently developed his newest hit podcast, “The King and the Sting,” in collaboration with his good friend and stand-up comic Theo Von. The show has skyrocketed to a level of unprecedented popularity by debuting as the #1 podcast in the world on iTunes its premiere episode. After two years of headlining sold out shows worldwide, on Jan. 19, 2019 Schaub recorded his first one-hour comedy special, “You’d Be Surprised,” with Showtime. In addition to his successful career in comedy Schaub is also on Bravo’s “Play by Play,” E!’s “After Party,” Showtime’s “Below the Belt,” Comedy Central’s 7th season of “This is Not Happening,” David Ayer’s upcoming film “Tax Collector,” and Joe Rogan’s “Fight Companion” podcast.
Mixing a dry sarcasm with his biting commentary on life, Patterson has achieved major success as a stand-up comedian, writer, and comedic actor. In 2016, he released his one hour comedy special, “Live From Venice Beach” on the Starz Network.
In addition to being a fan favorite on the hit NPR podcast “Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me,” Hong has performed standup comedy on “The Arsenio Hall Show,” “Last Call with Carson Daly,” “Gotham Comedy Live” and “Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen.” She hosts the live trivia podcast “Go Fact Yourself” on the Maximum Fun Network. Hong was featured in the Coen Brothers’ film “Inside Llewyn Davis,” and played recurring characters in two series, “The Thundermans” on Nickelodeon and “Blunt Talk” on Starz. Helen has also guest starred on “Jane the Virgin,” “Parks and Recreation,” “Pretty Little Liars,” and “Splitting Up Together.”
An unassuming nerd unleashes a mind-blowing show filled with musical comedy, physical antics, multicultural satire and social commentary. Schwartz is one of the most creative and original comedians working today, earning the description, “everything there is to love about entertainment” (First Order Historians). With appearances on “The Tonight Show,” Showtime, “Comics Unleashed,” BET and more, Schwartz’s stand up, songs and characters are spreading worldwide.
