Residents and visitors are invited to ring in the new year on Myrtle Avenue with two very special events.

Noon Year’s Eve

On Dec. 31, gather in Library Park for Noon Year’s Eve. Since midnight may be too late for young children to stay awake, Noon Year’s Eve was created to celebrate New Year’s Eve during the daytime. Activities include story time, live music, arts and crafts, inflatable obstacle course, games and a special countdown to Noon Year’s Eve. All ages are welcomed to participate in family fun activities.

This event is completely free to the public and will take place in Library Park at 321 S. Myrtle Ave., from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

On Dec. 31, the City of Monrovia, along with the Monrovia Old Town Advisory Board and the Old Town Merchants, are set to present the annual New Year’s Eve on Myrtle Avenue beginning at 7 p.m.

There will be live music, a wide selection of restaurants offering an enhanced outdoor dining and drinking experience and a celebratory ball lighting at midnight.

For those who will be joining the celebration:

  • Through GoMonrovia, those traveling to the event, within city boundaries, can request a Lyft ride for a $5 classic ride or $1 shared ride.
  • Parking in Old Town Monrovia is free, but limited due to the event’s size. Consider carpooling and arriving early. Visit the city online to learn more about parking options.
  • Childcare services will be provided, at the Monrovia Community Center, at the cost of $25/child for residents and $50/child for non-residents.
  • Admission to the event is free to the public.

For more information on the events, call the Monrovia Community Center at (626) 256-8246, visit www.cityofmonrovia.org
