Dec. 8
Shortly before 12:53 a.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness, 125 N. First Ave., regarding a vehicle burglary report. A suspect was seen breaking into a car and stealing a backpack. The suspect is described as a male wearing a grey jacket, orange shirt, and blue pants. The investigation is ongoing.
At approximately 2:34 a.m., officers responded to Santa Anita Race Track, 285 W. Huntington Drive, regarding a traffic collision. An investigation revealed a driver, who admitted to being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, collided into a barricade while driving recklessly in the parking lot. The 21-year-old male from Baldwin Park was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Dec. 9
Just after 5:18 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of East Newman Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime during the previous evening, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s Jeep Wrangler from his driveway. The investigation is ongoing.
At approximately 12:54 p.m., an officer responded to Ho Kee Café, 558 Las Tunas Drive, regarding a commercial burglary report. The officer discovered a lone suspect entered the business through an unlocked door and stole a tablet. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 40s or 50s, with a grey beard and a beanie-type hat. The investigation is ongoing.
Around 2:03 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and Live Oak Avenue regarding the notification of a stolen vehicle in the area. Upon attempting to contact the driver, the 24-year-old male from Baldwin Park fled on foot but was later found hiding in the yard of a nearby residence. An investigation revealed he was driving with a suspended license and had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Shortly after 3:59 p.m., an officer responded to Drive-In Liquor, 10 E. Huntington Drive, regarding a battery report. The victim stated a verbal altercation with the suspect resulted in the suspect punching the victim in the face. The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 30 and 35-years-old. The investigation is ongoing.
Dec. 10
Just before 8:59 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of West Wistaria Avenue regarding a commercial burglary report. An investigation revealed the unidentified suspect entered the unsecured detached garage and fled with a bicycle and gloves. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
Dec. 11
Around 2:39 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of West Palm Drive regarding a burglary report. The officer determined unknown suspects shattered a rear sliding glass door, ransacked the home, and fled with an unknown amount of property. The investigation is ongoing.
Before 4:23 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Arcadia Avenue and La Cadena Avenue regarding a grand theft report. The victim reported his catalytic converter had been stolen from his vehicle sometime between Dec. 4 and Dec. 10. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
Dec. 12
Around 1:50 p.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness, 125 N. First Ave., regarding a vandalism report. A reporting party found a parked car with the words “SCAM” spray painted on it and the windshield had been shattered. The investigation is ongoing.
At about 7:36 p.m., an officer responded to T-Mobile, 1230 S. Golden West Ave., regarding a grand theft report. Surveillance footage revealed two suspects entered the business and stole two phones from their displays. They are described as Hispanic males wearing hooded sweatshirts. The investigation is ongoing.
At approximately 8:50 p.m., an officer responded to Chevron, 11 E. Live Oak Ave., regarding a grand theft report. Surveillance footage revealed a store employee had stolen a large amount of California lottery scratchers valued at over $50,000. The 54-year-old male from Alhambra was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Dec. 13
Just before 4:20 p.m., an officer responded to Vons, 745 W. Naomi Ave., regarding a shoplifting report. The suspect was seen stealing a pack of beer and a bottle of alcohol. The 16-year-old male from Arcadia was cited in the field and released to his mother.
Dec. 14
Shortly after 11:11 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of Santa Rosa Road regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed an altercation between boyfriend and girlfriend resulted in the boyfriend pushing and dragging the victim causing injuries to her leg. The 19-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
