66th Annual Arcadia Festival of Bands in Arcadia from 8:40 a.m. – 9 p.m. (Baldwin Avenue and Huntington Drive, Arcadia, CA 91007). The Arcadia Festival of Bands has grown to be one of the premier band reviews in Southern California and is the longest-running event of its kind in the whole state. Registration is free. 3rd Annual Combined Prayer Service and Thanksgiving Lunch at First United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. (500 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91101). Hear the Adhan and Quran recited by Sh. Los Angeles Youth Orchestra at Ambassador Auditorium from 7:30-9:30 p.m. (131 S. Saint John Ave., Pasadena, CA 91105). The Symphony Orchestra performs Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 ‘Pastoral’, and the Ruth Borun Concert Orchestra performs Bartok’s Pieces for Children, Copland’s Down a Country Lane, Haydn’s Symphony No. 5, Mvt. 1, Verdi’s Grand March from Aida and Saint-Saens March Militaire, conducted by David Clymer, LAYO alumni and conducting intern.
